Brian Dennis, Co-Founder and Director of The Fruit People, discovered ROBUS when researching his lighting options and after speaking to ROBUS Area Sales Manager, Katie Slein he felt ROBUS products suited their needs perfectly. Katie worked with Brian advising what ROBUS products were available that would best suit their requirements and budget.
As a growing company with an expanding team, The Fruit People recently decided to relocate to a larger building with a bigger office and warehouse space. This new premises needed a full fit out of lights. They wanted superior quality and energy efficient light fittings with fantastic value for money.
They chose the SULTAN and ATMOS as the two main products for new space. The ROBUS ATMOS 40W LED, 4000K 600x600mm panels and ROBUS SULTAN 2X40W LED corrosion proof,5ft, 5000K battens were installed in the warehouse space. The ATMOS Panels were also used for the office and hallway.
ROBUS PIR motion sensors were installed alongside the ROBUS SULTAN LED battens in the warehouse to increase energy efficiency. These sensors meant that the ROBUS SULTAN LED battens only turned on when there was movement in the warehouse ensuring the lights were only used when absolutely necessary, saving energy and cost.
In the 2 months since the ROBUS fittings were installed, Brian Dennis, the Director and Co- Founder of The Fruit People has already noticed massive cost and energy savings. Brian has attributed this to the PIR sensors. They work very well given the nature of the business at The Fruit People. Full lighting is required at some parts of the day when the fruit is being packed ready for transportation. However, the building does not need to be fully lit at other times during the day when it’s quiet. As products with PIR sensors do not require a light switch to turn on or off, they ensure light fittings turns off when there is no movement in the area. Delivery staff do not need to look for a light switch and lights automatically turn off when they leave.
The Fruit People are Ireland’s leading office fruit box specialists. They supply boxes of fruit and healthy snacks to over one thousand Irish companies, ranging from SMEs to large corporations. Over 250,000 pieces of fruit are sent out from their warehouse every week.
