The Operations Manager for Choices in Gorey, Gavin Brett wanted to redesign their lighting to give the store a modern look, increase overall brightness and save costs. Pat Clifford from Clifford Electrical recommended ROBUS to Gavin. After receiving helpful advice from Clifford’s and ROBUS, he decided to choose ROBUS products for the project.
As Choice stores are known for their bright, attractive and welcoming atmosphere, their lighting selection is paramount to them. ROBUS Project Engineer Conor Brannelly and Clifford Electrical worked closely with Gavin from Choice to put the plan in action and choose which products would suit the large retail space at Choice in Gorey. Following on from this, ROBUS in-house Lighting Designer, Rory Verbrugge got to work designing the lighting plan.

The main requirement was that the lighting had to be designed in a specific way to allow Choice to move racks and baskets around, so it would not affect the stores lighting, or their product displays in any way.
As Choice is a store that has a fast product turnaround, this was the key focus. Rory designed a lighting plan to stand the test of time, which will allow them to re-arrange the store layout as they see fit. This ensures their overall light output will remain excellent and the right amount of light will shine onto their products, making them more enticing to buy.
Choice installed over 100 ROBUS LED light fittings throughout their retail shop floor. The bulk of fittings installed were the PRISMOID LED LINEAR HIGHBAY 150W. ROBUS 2ft VULCAN LED fittings were installed as emergency lighting.
Retail Lighting Products ROBUS 150W PRISMOIDs were installed throughout the shop floor in Choice, Gorey. The ROBUS PRISMOID LED linear highbay is truly the best solution for large retail spaces, or any aisle space for that matter. With its 30° x 70° aisle optic and optional 90° wide area optic, the PRISMOID provides ideal beam angles for retail superstores, warehouses, manufacturing plants, airport hangers, gyms, sports halls and workshops. In addition, this LED linear highbay creates outstanding light output which is more effective than traditional symmetric beam pattern LED fittings. This helps reduce the quantity of fittings needed, and energy consumption by up to 50%.
ROBUS 2ft VULCAN LED corrosion proof fittings were modified to emergency fittings for this project. Generally, a 2ft VULCAN would be a large option for an emergency fitting but in this case, a larger option was needed. Because of the store’s ceiling height, the 2ft VULCANs worked well here as they gave out the required emergency illumination, without compromising on design.
